主讲人简介：

大卫·A·卡德维尔教授是英国皇家工程院院士，曾任剑桥大学战略与规划副校长及工程系主任，具有丰富的高等教育管理经验，曾推动建立剑桥大学南京科创中心，并为多国政府及高校提供战略咨询。他的研究兴趣主要集中在大块高温超导体及其在生成高磁场方面的应用上，并于1998年成为欧洲应用超导学会(ESAS)创始成员，并在过去18年中一直担任该学会的董事会成员。Cardwell 教授在超导领域发表了超过400篇的技术论文和专利，在70多个国际会议上受邀进行演讲，并与世界各地的学术机构和产业界开展广泛合作。

内容提要：

This lecture offers a systematic overview of the University of Cambridge, beginning with its historical background and the factors that sustain its status as a world-leading academic institution. It will explain the unique collegiate system of Cambridge and its central role in the admissions process, along with an introduction to the university’s academic departments. The session will also detail the Cambridge education model for graduate applicants, including admission criteria and application guidance. Additionally, funding opportunities for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies will be outlined, along with an overview of associated costs. Finally, the speaker will share insights into the academic and daily life experience at Cambridge.
