Liu Chan, Vice President of SWUFE, Head A Group to European Colleges
Liu Can, vice president of SWUFE, head a group to European visiting colleges including Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, Berlin School of Economics, Central Bank of Sachsen and German and University of Zurich Switzerland during the period from November 24th, 2009 to December 3th, 2009, achieving remarkable results. Professor Xie Tao, Dean of the school of international education, professor He Zerong from the School of Finance, deputy dean Zhao Jingmei and Zeng Zhigen, along with some faculty members of the School of Finance paid their visits with the group.
On the morning of 25th, the group head to School of Finance and Management of Frankfurt, which was built in 1957. As a renowned business school, it receives substantial supports from a variety of financial institutions. Graduates ranks high with salary among graduates from other business schools. Talks were conducted on teacher and student exchange programs in fields of finance and economics with contracts being successfully signed. In light of the contract, since the beginning of 2010, every year would see four exchange students from each school. 
Later they preceded to Berlin School of Economics, a sister school of SWUFE with a twenty-year exchange history. Programs include the annual seminar on Sino-German monetary policy and long-term cooperation in fields like joined post-graduate education and exchange student. On the morning of 26th, President Liu and Pro. Xie, as representatives of SWUFE on the program of Sino-Europe masters of international business, took part in meetings of governmental assessment and authentification. At the meeting, President Liu gave a comprehensive introduction of teaching principle of opening and strict standard on teaching quality of SWUFE, which is met with appreciation from the penal of expert. German experts remarked the bi-layer quality management system as being quite professional and fairly perfect. Presidents of the Berlin school of economics place a high value on the long-term partnership with SWUFE, expressing heart-felt thanks for the contribution we made to the smooth authentification from German government.
On 27th, the tenth Sino-German seminar on monetary policy, co-hosted by SWUFE, School of Economics of Berlin, Central bank of Berlin and Brandenburg was conducted in the Berlin School of Economics. This seminar, as the key platform for exchanging thoughts, enhancing cooperation, discussing hot economic issues and macro-policy, carries an extraordinary significance in the current climate of complex economic among countries in the aftermath of the financial crisis. Hectic discussions were conducted in a variety of issues concerned with finance and economics.
During the meeting, the group visited a dozen of exchange students in Berlin School of Economics. After attentive listening to the confusions students faced in life and study, Mr. Liu encouraged them to further widening studying area, enhancing comprehensive quality, standing up to various challenges and strengthening contacts with schools. At the same night, the group was invited to the graduation ceremony for 2009 MBA majors of the Berlin School of Economics in the city hall, giving away graduation certificate and award certificate.
On the last day of November, the visiting group, along with Doctor Rommel, head to the industrial-loaded town Leipzig, and had lunch with president of the Sachsen branch of the bank of German central bank. Fruitful talks went smoothly in a variety of topics.
The last leg of the journey went to their first visit to the university of Zurich Switzerland, during which, professor Thorsten Hens, the director of the bank institute of the school of economics and Doctor Richard Meier, former director of the stock exchange institute exchanged opinions concerning their respective main research direction, teaching staff and students and showed considerable interests in visits and exchanges among teachers and students. During the lunch, Mr. Liu invited both professor to the international finance and monetary policy seminar sponsored by SWUFE in 2010.
This visiting experience played a significant role in strengthening and expanding the partnership with European colleges, building new strategic and cooperative friendship, opening up more cooperative areas and forms, as well as facilitating and deepening international exchange and cooperation.
