On the morning of October 29th, Prof. Bruno BEKOLO-EBE£¬the President of Douala University visited our school along with his wife for the first time. The vice-president Ding Renzhong and leaders of the President¡¯s Office, Foreign Affairs Office and other related offices meet with them in the VIP room of Tengxiang Building.
Mr. Ding introduced the history and overview of our school and the school specialties. He said that our school attaches great importance to the international exchange and cooperation. We seek for cooperation with foreign universities including Africa. We commit to expand foreign cooperation projects and the scale of international students. According to Prof. Bruno, Douala is a famous university in Cameroon. It has complete subject structure, among which finance, economy and management are their predominant courses. The similar subject features ensure favorable conditions for exchange and cooperation between the two universities. He believes that the further development of the world will direct to China, the cooperation with SWUFE will open the door of cooperation with other universities in China. He promised that a delegation composed of deans will be sent to visit SWUFE to discuss the details of synergic issues. And he hopes more students could be sent to study in our campus to broaden their international perspective. Moreover, he also welcomes the teachers in our school to visit and give lectures in Douala, to achieve win-win cooperation.
Before the meeting, Prof. Bruno paid a visit to our campus and the museum of SWUFE¡¯s history in accompany of the director of President¡¯s Office. Prof. Bruno said the wonderful scene of campus impressed him deeply and he would like to build a similar school history museum to popularize Douala.
Douala is a comprehensive university under the ministry of education, which located in the city of Douala, Cameroon. It has wide range of disciplines and 11 schools including Science & Technology School, Economy and Trading School, Advanced Teachers School and so on. The number of students (including undergraduate, master and doctor) is more than 45,000.
