On 27th May, dean of Griffith Business School, Professor Chistopher Auld paid a visit to Southwestern University of Finance and Economics in accompany with Griffith International Marketing Manager Ms.Kirsty Agnew, with the intention to establish a cooperative relationship with SWUFE. Vice President Ding Renzhong presented on the meeting. Faculties from International Affairs Office, School of Finance, School of Accounting, School of International Business also attended the meeting.
On behalf of SWUFE, Vice President Ding Renzhong extended our welcome for the honorable guests. Then Vice President Ding gave a brief introduction on the history of our university, our academic research and educational program, during which President Ding specifically introduced School of Finance as the key school of Southwest China, even of the whole nation. Then Professor Chistopher Auld gave a brief introduction on Australia and the Griffith University to us, including information about its history, beautiful campus, schools, faculties and students. Finally Professor Chistopher Auld expressed the intention to establish a cooperative relationship with SWUFE.
Then faculties from School of Finance, School of Accounting, School of International Business introduced to Professor Chistopher Auld and Ms. Kirsty Agnew the three schools respectively. Besides, they discussed details on the cooperative activities between two universities, such as academic cooperation and exchange programs. Zhang Zhongqiang, dean of International Affairs Office asked some information on some widely-considered problems such as tuition in Griffith Universty and job-hunting situations of the graduates in Griffith University. After over two hours¡¯ negotiation, SWUFE and Griffith University achieved an agreement on the cooperative programs. In these programs we will establish a special "2+2" double-degree program for undergraduate students and a "3.5+1.5" program for postgraduate study. Additionally, these programs will provide faculties of these two university with more opportunities to cooperate on academic research and more exchange programs. Furthermore, this agreement showed that our cooperation is mainly in the area of finance, accounting and international business. This meeting ended in a joyful atmosphere. Griiffith University and SWUFE exchanged presents, and took photos in order to record the precious moment.
